Creating beautiful wedding dresses is definitely a rewarding process, but seeing photos of our brides walking down the aisle in their custom creations is hands down the best part! Anomalie bride Rachel entrusted Kathryn Rummel of Kreate Photography to capture honest, compelling photographs of her wedding day, and the photos were absolutely stunning. Kathryn shares her top tips below.
“My success as a photographer is not only measured through the quality of my work, but through the connections with the people I work with.”
I value the connections that I create with my clients, and think that this connection leads to better wedding photographs. Couples love working with me because they feel comfortable and at ease. By making an honest connection with my clients, I am able to create honest photographs.
Pro-tip: Ask your photographer “Why do couples love working with you?” before booking them for your wedding.
“Being in love does not mean that you feel comfortable in front of the camera at all times”
The last time I had professional portraits taken was likely at a high school dance, so I get it. The goal is to feel relaxed and at ease and yourself. The best way to do this is to engage with each other and remember why you are here in the first place. When in doubt – I just urge them to connect with each other in whatever way feels natural!
Pro-tip: Feeling uncomfortable in front of the camera? Think back to your first date, or another sweet memory. This helps couples sink into the experience and forget about the camera.
“When choosing your wedding dress, think about how it makes you FEEL”
You do not want the way your wedding dress fits to take away from the comfort + ease of your special day. I’d highly recommend designing/wearing something that makes you feel attractive, sexy and yourself.
Pro-tip: Try on a variety of silhouettes to figure out what you feel best in!
