Anomalie bride, Sabrina, takes advantage of the flexibility that designing a custom wedding dress has to offer by working with Anomalie to design a gown that truly reflected her personality. Think a blush gown, tiered skirt, sparkle tulle and so much more!
After falling in love on the cruise ship that they both worked on, Martijn, a deck officer, and Sabrina, a professional singer, wanted their wedding to reflect their whimsical romance. They took time to select each and every detail of the day to show guests who they are as a couple. “Everything that made up our wedding came from our hearts,” says Sabrina. “We didn’t pick a single piece unless it had an element of us. That made our day extra special.”
When it came time to look for her wedding dress, Sabrina wanted to take the same approach and create a look that truly represented her style and personality. After shopping and trying on at least 100 dresses, Sabrina finally reached out to Anomalie for help designing a custom gown.
The first step was discussing what the perfect wedding dress would look like to her stylist, Bre. Sabrina wanted a blush ballgown with bohemian qualities and lace details that matched her mother’s wedding veil. It became clear to Bre that this lively singer and dancer needed a gown that was classic, sexy, and playful—just like her. The final result? A gorgeous blush ball gown with floral lace straps and a tiered skirt layered with sparkle and swiss dot tulle.
“Sabrina really incorporated a lot of different elements that complimented each other,” says Bre, which was unexpected, “She hand selected all these different elements and then trusted us to put them together in a way that translated in a very classic and bridal kind of way.”
Since her design elements were a bit unconventional, Sabrina was slightly nervous to see the dress in person. “When I finally unboxed my dress it felt so unbelievably soft and dramatic in size—I don’t think the pictures ever did it justice,” she says. “I told my mom I didn’t need to look in a mirror because I already felt amazing, just the way I always wanted to!”
A breakdown of Sabrina’s wedding dress:
- A-line blush gown with tiered skirt
- Crossover bodice
- Side cutouts lined with swiss dot tulle
- Dainty floral lace straps
- Exposed back
- Skirt included layers of sparkle and swiss dot tulle
