One of the very first Anomalie employees, Stephanie Ganias (also known at Anomalie HQ as Steph G) makes brides‘ dreams come true each day as she works on every individual custom wedding dress design before it gets sent off to the workshop.  Steph reviews every detail of the ‘tech pack’ (technical design files) to ensure that no important design element is overlooked and that the BOM (Bill of Materials, aka fabric stack-up) will achieve the bride’s desired dress vision.

She's an Anomalie Bride👰🏼 and Employee! Our very own Steph G. traveled to the workshops in China 🇨🇳 to oversee production and meet her wedding dress👗for the very first time. Check out a sneak peek of her gown here and read about her first trip to China on the blog #unboxed! https://dressanomalie.blog/?p=898#Meetthedress #CustomWeddingDress

This past week, she returned from the workshops for the first time in her role as Operations Manager. Working one-on-one with the dress designers and workshop managers, she reviewed every individual dress, including the most important of her life– her very own wedding gown. You got it! Steph is an Anomalie bride, going through the exact same process to create her custom dress. We sat down with her to chat about her experience and travels abroad!

Have you ever traveled to the workshops before and what were you looking forward to seeing/doing the most?

This was my first visit!  Of course, I must say I was most excited to see my own wedding dress! The big day is pretty soon and I ended up getting to meet the person who stitched my entire dress which was very special.  I was also really looking forward to meeting our team in China who work so hard to bring our brides’ visions to life.

What were your first impressions of the workshops and the designers?

First impression: Simply, “WOW!” – for two main reasons:

First, meeting each person who contributes to designing every Anomalie dress was a humbling experience. They really put their heart and soul into each design. The second I got there, the first thing our workshop manager wanted to review was a list of delivered dresses and to confirm that each bride was happy so she could tell the team. It was so nice to see how committed and invested they are!

Second, THE TALENT.  Walking through the pattern room, lace room, and beading room was like a trip to Disney World for me!  I got to sit with one of our pattern makers through the making of a pattern which was so eye-opening to see how much technical work goes into this initial step. The neon colors and paper patterns (my own dress was a paper pattern) I actually think are fun!

The beading room was another amazing area of the workshop to visit. Watching every single bead, crystal, pearl and more being hand-stitched one by one while following a very precise pattern was amazing!

What were you personally working on while you were there?

During my trip, I reviewed all of the current Anomalie dresses at the factory and spent quality time with our workshop manager to discuss ways we can improve our processes on both sides. I also visited our lace shop (note: traveling with our lace shop manager on a moped!) to source new lace patterns for our lace library.

You designed your own dress with Anomalie, what was it like seeing it for the first time?

Seeing my dress for the first time was surreal! I wanted to go through the process as all of our Anomalie brides, so had a design consultation with one of our stylists and removed myself from any updates in production. ezgif.com-crop.gif

It truly turned out more gorgeous than I had imagined – the lace placement, the exposed bodice, the detachable off-the-shoulder sleeves – were all a dream. Fit – pretty perfect.

Any words of wisdom for brides looking to create their dress with Anomalie?

We definitely have a unique process here but it works! Wisdom? Like I said, I went through the exact same process as our brides do. I think trusting the process and knowing that there’s an amazing team of strong women behind you is very important. Your stylist truly is your #1 advocate!  Your dress is her baby, so my wisdom is to have comfort in knowing your stylist has your back all the way up until the moment you walk down the aisle!

Pro Stylist Tip: Don’t be afraid to ask your stylists questions about the entire dress creation process. We have an entire team of bridal experts to see your dress from concept to creation to get you walking down the aisle in your dream dress. Schedule your free initial consultation here.
